Machines as experience

From restmaterials and old domestic appliances I build machines with new and surprising actions.

The creations move and might be able to react on movements in their surroundings.

In a turbulent world I feel challenged to build 'affecters'.  Affecters I interpret as machines that move themselves and might be able to move and affect us as well.  They might reach this with absurd actions, humour and here and there some scrap-iron. The visitors attraction is drawn by their seemingly useless behaviour and reactions.

Parts find a new existence

For example this old compressormotor fled the shredder thanks to its interesting form. Its fascinating remaining scrap inspired me to build this sculpture. Curious to see movements? Find filmfragments at Machines working.
